The Hilo section of the American Youth Soccer Organization is looking for volunteers and players for the spring season, and registration in ongoing through Jan. 15.

Players must be 4 years old by March 31. Mail $60 and a registration form to AYSO PO Box 5000, Hilo, HI 96720.

Friends of Viking Golf Tournament

Friends of Viking Golf is holding its 31st annual fundraising tournament Jan 30. at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.

The format will be a two-person modified scramble with a 7 a.m shotgun start. Men older than 65 may use the gold tees.

Prizes will be awarded.

Entry blanks are available at the Muni pro-shop and driving range. Cost is $80 per person, and the early bird special includes green fees, cart, and lunch and a T-shirt.

Hilo coaches are sought

Hilo High is accepting head coaching applications for the following fall sport vacancies: air riflery, cheerleading and football.

Application form can be picked up at the schools main office, and Dec. 30 is the deadline to apply.

Aikane, HGEA tennis on tap

Aikane Tennis will be held 7-10 p.m. Tuesday at the Edith Kanaka’ole Multipurpose Stadium
